How a Stiltz Home Lift can Change your Life

Our customers tell us that once they have installed a Stiltz Home Lift in their home they have never looked back. This style of domestic lift offers homeowners freedom, independence and most importantly access all areas, so nothing is off limits ever again.

At Homelift Experts, we like to say that the Stiltz Home Lift is great for ‘everyday living’ and it can add value to a property too. Equally, it is perfect as a means to ‘future proof’ a home, making it suitable for ‘all of life’ living. If you have a mobility challenge or a disability where the stairs are a problem, Stiltz domestic lifts are a modern and attractive alternative to an old-fashioned stairlift or clunky traditional hydraulic lift.

HOW IS THIS DOMESTIC LIFT INSTALLED AND POWERED?

The Stiltz Home Lift is powered by self-contained motor in the lid of the lift car and is the first ‘through-the-floor’ lift on the home lifts market which does not use noisy hydraulics.

There are no load bearing walls required thanks to its self-supporting design with the lift travelling on two vertical rails. A lift pit or shaft or noisy machine room are not needed either, making it an extremely flexible solution with minimal building work. Only a small hole in the ceiling for the lift to pass through, is required.

A standard installation can take less than one day and once in place, the domestic lift plugs straight into a domestic power socket, meaning you do not have to hire an electrician and it is really energy efficient too.

HOW MUCH SPACE WILL A STILTZ HOME LIFT NEED?

The Stiltz Home Lift has one of the smallest footprints on the market for a domestic lift – its compact footprint is less than a square metre (0.62m2). Its modular design means it is not only compact but it is also versatile.

Passing easily under doorways and ceilings, it can be installed even in modest-sized properties and has been known to slot into the void of a turning staircase. It can also fit into a cupboard space for total discretion if preferred.

The Stiltz Home Lift can accommodate two passengers and even a pet, comfortably. There is also a larger lift which is big enough to fit a standard-sized wheelchair.

DO I REQUIRE PLANNING PERMISSION TO INSTALL A DOMESTIC LIFT?

No. All you need to get is a standard building notice application, where you will have an inspection by an authorised independent body, usually during the building phase. You will not even have to do this yourself as this whole process is organised on your behalf by Stiltz Lifts.
